| Wear your diabetes identification |
Take extra medication, syringes,
testing supplies, and prescriptions with you
You never know when a trip will be delayed or extended, or when you'll
need a prescription to replace lost medicine. |

Always take a carry-on bag with you
keep the following
on hand:
· Your diabetes pills.
· Insulin and syringes (Insulin should not be exposed to
temperatures under 35°F or over 90°F. It should never
be stored in an airplane luggage compartment.)
· Your test meter and strips. Take extra batteries just
in case!
· Fast-acting sugar
Lifesavers, jelly beans, hard
candy in case of low blood sugar.
· Carbohydrate and protein foods
crackers, cheese,
and peanut butter sandwiches, to tide you over if your regular
meals are delayed.
