Many illnesses, symptoms, or even the stress
related to illness can disrupt blood glucose control!

Check your blood glucose frequently
and keep a written record |

Drink plenty of liquids |

Try to eat
Frequent helpings of soup, toast, small amounts of carbohydrate-containing
liquids (regular soft drinks, juice) or soft foods (Jell-O, popsicles)
can help prevent potential problems

Replace electrolytes
If you are vomiting or have diarrhea or a fever, you should eat
small amounts of salted foods and/or liquids (crackers, broth). |

Take medications as prescribed
Continue to take your diabetes medications. Be sure your healthcare
provider knows what medications you are taking because some of
them may affect your blood glucose. |

for ketones if your blood sugar is above 240

pharmacy.
